The defender must beat each attacking card with a higher card of the same suit or any trump. Fail to defend and you pick up everything on the table. Knowing when to press the attack and when to hold back is the key to staying out of last place.

How to Play

You play with a 36-card deck (6 through Ace). Each player gets 6 cards. The bottom card of the remaining deck sets the trump suit. Whoever holds the lowest trump attacks first. The next player clockwise defends.

Defend by playing a higher card of the same suit or any trump. If you succeed, all played cards go to the discard pile. If you fail, you pick up everything on the table. After each round, draw from the deck back up to 6 cards. Once the deck runs out, players who empty their hand drop out. The last person still holding cards is the durak — the fool.
