About this Game

Looking for gin rummy online free? Gin Rummy is a classic 2-player card game about building melds and slashing your deadwood to zero. Form sets of three or more matching ranks, or runs of three or more consecutive cards in the same suit. Born in New York in 1909, it rode Hollywood's golden age to worldwide fame and remains one of the most popular two-player card games ever.

On Stone Online, practice with AI at 4 difficulty levels or challenge real players online — all free, no signup, no download. Start against a beginner bot to learn the ropes, then jump into multiplayer when you're ready.

Every turn you draw one card and discard one — simple on the surface, deep underneath. Do you grab your opponent's discard or pull from the stock? Which cards do you hold, and when do you knock? Hit Gin with zero deadwood for a juicy bonus. Bold play pays off in this game.

How to Play

Use a standard 52-card deck. Deal 10 cards to each player. The remaining cards form the stock pile. Flip the top card face-up to start the discard pile. On your turn, draw one card from the stock or discard pile, then discard one card.

You can knock when your deadwood totals 10 or less. Both players reveal their melds. The opponent may lay off deadwood cards onto the knocker's melds. Zero deadwood is called Gin and earns a 25-point bonus. If the opponent's deadwood equals or beats the knocker's, that's an Undercut — the opponent gets the bonus instead.
